Quad/Graphics is currently hiring a Slitter Rewinder Operator. Responsibilities include accurately converting roll paper, move and process paper rolls. Operating of a roll truck, unload and setup machine, maintain and servicing of production machines and other manufacturing duties as needed requires use of various pieces of Powered & Industrial equipment, desktop and mobile PC’s and scanning equipment.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Operate Cameron CT16 96” Slitter/Rewinder, Operate Sonoco Core Cutter, Operate Auto Wrapper, Operate Nordsen 3500 Hot Glue System, Drive Roll Truck.

Experience or Training Required: High School Diploma/GED

License or Certificate Required: Forklift & Roll Truck Certification during Employment. Lock/out & Tag/out & Aerial Lift Class during employment.

Job Functions( . ESSENTIAL/ * MARGINAL)

· The ability to operate a roll truck and forklift. · The ability to load and unload semi-trailers and boxcars using a roll truck and stack paper in warehouse. · The ability to read tape measure. · The ability to document slitter start and stop time and roll consumption. · The ability to repair crushed cores at slitter/rewinder and stripping rolls down. · The ability to make Mill Splices. · The ability to do general maintenance. · The ability to operate a computer.(knowledge of paper inventory, roll collection,reject maintenance.) · The ability to monitor current and upcoming jobs on slitter. · The ability to barcode internal and external receipts. · The ability to enter manifests. · The ability to generate bills of lading. · The ability to stand for long periods of time.

Physical Activities: Average hours per week 42. Shift: 12 hour shift with overtime as required. Some 12 hour night shifts for overtime as required.

The lifting and carrying requirements: Removing strip waste from rolls and cores from The slitter/rewinder and core cutter.

Repetitive Use Of Hands/Feet:

· Grasping of strip waste and paper web, 10 - 30% of time. · Simple grasping of truck controls, 10 - 20% of time. · Repetitive use of foot/feet, 2-3 hours ( gas, brake, clutch pedals on roll truck / Stepping on and holding the paper feed )

Sensory Requirements:

· Vision and hearing required.

Special Hazards:

· Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards are possible with proper training. · Steel toe work shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection when using bander.

· High School Diploma or GED within six months of employment. · Ability to stand for long periods of time and operate all features of slitter/rewinder auto wrapper, core cutter, and hot glue system. · Basic math skills and ability to read and write. * Previous roll truck/ forklift experience. * Computer skills. * Good written and verbal communication skills.
